The History & The Owners

Langford House was built in 1916 and is a beautifully restored period home providing bed and breakfast style accommodation set among a manicured garden. Owner / operators Zoe and John Stringer purchased the property in July 2016 and made the move to the country from the Mornington Peninsula.

“Having holidayed in Tocumwal for many years we were hoping to retire here in the future but when we saw Langford House on the real estate market things quickly changed”.

Zoe has a background in hospitality and nursing and John is a marine mechanic who has set up his own workshop nearby.

Langford House has 3 guest rooms all with their own en-suite.  Each room is beautifully decorated in its own theme.

We want our guests to feel at home when they visit so you will find lots of little extras around the house for you to enjoy such as delicious afternoon teas.  The guest lounge is perfect for relaxing, reading or watching TV.  We have a gorgeous outdoor area including a heated pool.

The gardens of Langford House are continually providing flowers and there are lots of areas to sit and contemplate life.

We have started our own vegetable garden from which we are able to make our own preserves, chutneys, jams and pickles.

An ideal spot from which to explore the region, enjoy exceptional food and wine, get a rush from water sports and flying adventures, relax while bushwalking and camping or visit one of the 23 river side beaches.

Activities

Tocumwal’s river foreshore reserve provides ready access to the Murray River from the Main Street, which is full of character and olde worlde charm. Visit one of the many cafes or historic pubs for a hearty country meal and a chat with some of the locals...

“The wonderfully warm hospitality demonstrated by our hosts made for a most memorable stay. A pre-dinner glass of wine and nibbles in front of the open fire, socialising with our hosts, a late supper and delicious breakfast all contributed to a relaxing time.”

“Langford House is set in beautiful gardens. Our hosts were an absolute delight. I have nothing but praise for this B and B.”

Everything was fantastic. The owners created a warm and welcoming atmosphere and were great hosts. The gardens and furnishings were excellent and the whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable.
